Following difficulties with our telephone system on Monday 24th February 2025, which resulted in disruption to our telephone service for approximately 2 hours, we have now reviewed the incident with our telephone system provider. The purpose of this review being to establish what happened, to apply any lessons from the incident, thereby reducing the chances of a similar repeat incident in the future. In this instance, the issue was a widespread systems outage which impacted a large number of GP practices around the UK, and not any of the systems or equipment based at the Practice. We are also using the information from this review to update our Business Continuity Plan.
Contrary to some posts on local social media, the issue was NOT related to any BT or OpenReach systems or services. Some of the other feedback posted on the Diss Community Facebook page covers the topics that we are hoping to discuss at the Practice Open Evening on Thursday 10th April 2025. This evening commences at 6.30pm at Roydon Village Hall. Please telephone us on 01379 642023 (after 11am if possible please), or visit our Reception desk at the Practice if you would like to book a seat for this Open Evening.
We would again like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to our patients by this telephone systems issue on Monday.
