With flu season fast approaching our patients will start to receive flu invites over the coming days and weeks either by letter or SMS message asking you to book in.
PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR PRACTICE BY HAVING YOUR VACCINATIONS HERE IF POSSIBLE.
We will be holding multiple vaccination clinics in October and November on Saturdays to get everyone who wants a vaccine vaccinated.
If you are also eligible for the covid booster this autumn/winter then we will be administering these at the same time as flu.
Please do let us know if you do not wish to receive your flu or covid vaccines this year by either replying to the SMS invite message you receive or by completing the slip at the bottom of your invite letter and return it to the practice. This means your records can be updated and will stop us sending further reminder invites out over the coming weeks/months.
The eligibility rules for flu and covid have changed slightly this year and are as follows;
– All those aged 75 and over are eligible for both flu AND covid vaccines.
– All pregnant women are eligible for flu but are NOT eligible for covid unless they are immunosuppressed for a different reason.
-All those aged 18-64 are eligible for flu if listed in the attached chart (Green Book Chapter 19 Influenza) and are only eligible for covid if they are immunosuppressed.
-All those aged 65-74 are eligible for flu and only eligible for covid if they are immunosuppressed.
