JULIA NURSE PRACTITIONER


Nurse Practitioners are Registered Nurses who have done additional training and academic qualifications to be able to examine, assess, make diagnosis, treat, prescribe and make referrals for patients of any age who present with undiagnosed problems.


Julia will be running a Same Day Clinic and is also trained in contraception / Women’s health, Diabetes, Asthma and COPD.


Same day clinic appointments


These are appointments that are for health matters that the patient feels have to be seen on the day:



  • NOT MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS

  • Tonsillitis, earache, cough, swollen glands, sinusitis, sore throats, colds and flu-like illnesses, raised temperature showing no sign of improvement after pharmacists advice

  • Acute chest infection

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Eye infections

  • Acute back pain, joint sprains

  • Dizziness, giddiness, unusual headache

  • Constipation

  • Piles/ haemorrhoids/ bleeding

  • Skin problems – rashes / irritation / eczema

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
